What Are “Eki Stamps”?
Station stamps, also known as “Eki stamps” are unique stamps found at train stations across Japan, with each station featuring its own design.
Many international visitors collect stamps from the stations they visit while traveling around Japan, making eki stamp collecting a very popular activity!
JR Shizuoka Station has two exits: the North Exit and the South Exit.
Eki Stamps at JR Shizuoka Station
Shizuoka Station Eki Stamp
To get the stamp at Shizuoka Station, go to the counter on the right side of the JR conventional line ticket gates, as shown in the photo. Say to the station staff, “Eki stamp, please!” and they will bring it out for you.
Shinkansen(Bullet Train) Stamp
The Shinkansen ticket gates at JR Shizuoka Station are located at the South Exit. The stamp stand is on the far right in the photo.
Shizuoka Station Tourist Information Center Stamp①
The Shizuoka City Tourist Information Center at Shizuoka Station is located at the South Exit. After leaving the Shinkansen ticket gates, turn left and you will find it nearby.
Opening hours: 9:00 a.m.–5:45 p.m. Closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Closed from December 29 to January 1.
Shizuoka City Tourist Information Center Stamp②
The Shizuoka City Tourist Information Center is located in the center of the North Exit area at JR Shizuoka Station, in front of the bus terminal.
English-speaking assistance is available.
Opening hours: 9:00 a.m.–5:45 p.m. . Closed from December 29 to January 1.
Sumpu Castle Stamp
Sumpu Castle Park, located about a 15-minute walk from JR Shizuoka Station, is one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles.
The special stamp is called a “Japan’s Top 100 Castles Stamp.” It is available at Sumpu Castle Park, as well as at the tourist information centers at both the North and South Exits of JR Shizuoka Station.
