Nihondaira Yume (dream) Terrace, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, offers panoramic 360-degree views of Shizuoka City. Enjoy local Shizuoka tea at the café and, on a clear day, take in spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay.
The ropeway to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine departs from Nihondaira.
Nihondaira is said to have been named after the legendary prince Yamato Takeru. According to tradition, during his eastern expedition, he defeated enemies who had trapped him in a grass fire on the Kusanagi Plain. He then climbed this hill and admired the surrounding landscape, giving rise to the name Nihondaira.
Today, Nihondaira is a scenic hill standing 307 meters above sea level. It has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Tourist Destinations and is designated as both a National Place of Scenic Beauty and a Prefectural Natural Park.

It is one of the must-visit attractions on Nihondaira. The beautiful wooden architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding landscape and is a favorite spot for photography.
The first floor introduces the history of Nihondaira, while the second floor features a tea café where visitors can relax and enjoy views of Mt. Fuji.
